WEST BROOKFIELD WELLNESS

Nutrition | Spa Services | Physical Therapy (SMART Clinic) | Exercise Is Medicine

Elite Sports Clubs are known for being full service facilities. We are proud to offer much more than just fitness and recreational options for our members. We have our very own dietitians, massage therapists, and physical therapists on staff; not to mention an extensive array of spa facilities, including saunas, whirlpools, and more.

Nutrition

We believe that you can be the best that you can be, through hard work and dedication to your fitness, and healthy nutrition planning. Research shows that when both are addressed, personal improvement occurs twice as fast as any one of the two. Over the years, Elite Sports Clubs has been fortunate to attract well-trained fitness and health professionals to be on our staff. They provide a niche of expertise to our wellness team approach. Each new member has the opportunity to benefit from meeting our professional staff and learning more about their own personal needs and desires, whether it is fitness or dietary planning. It is all a part of a total plan for success!

Your whole family can benefit by enjoying healthy recipe choices, and the long term improvement in overall health. How to monitor blood sugar and choosing foods that are best for your diabetic diet is provided in this program!

All in the Family Nutrition

All in the family nutrition involves every member of the family. Members are able to work together for family-centered nutrition planning. The program involves each member to do his or her own intake monitoring. Your family will learn to make food selections together for meals, snacks, and meals away from home at restaurants and school functions. An overall focus of the program is for improved nutrition in the family through working together towards this outcome.

Lose It Now

Choose from three selections of diets that best fit your lifestyle and fitness plans. Diets concentrate on eliminating sugar while emphasizing high-quality protein, modified carbohydrates and variable fats. During the course of the sessions there are also discussions on nutritional ingredients, and new nutrition guidelines.

  • Steam Room
Detox and rejuvenate your body in one of our steam rooms conveniently located in each of our changing rooms. (Click to read more.)
  • All four of our Elite Sports Clubs have convenient steam rooms in each of the changing rooms. Towels are provided for all individuals who wish to partake in the wonderful benefits of our steam rooms.

Steam baths are known for relaxation and stress relief, but steam room benefits also include:

    • Muscle soreness relief
    • Stiff joint relief
    • Immune system enhancement
    • Lymph detoxification
    • Blood circulation improvement
    • Sinus congestion relief

Heat causes your blood vessels to expand, which increases blood circulation. As a result, more oxygen and nutrients can reach damaged parts of your body. This has a double effect of temporarily reducing or stopping pain as well as increasing your body's healing rate. Spend 10-15 minutes in a steam room post workout and you will speed up healing of damaged muscle tissue.

The high concentration of moisture in steam baths has also been proven to be effective treatment for respiratory conditions such as:

    • Asthma
    • Bronchitis
    • Sinusitis
    • Allergies

Regular use of a steam room can improve not only your health, but also your appearance. Nothing is better for your skin than a heavy sweat. Heavy sweating cleanses your skin more thoroughly than soap and water because it opens your pores and allows deep-seated grime and dead cells to be flushed out. This is one reason steam baths can be helpful for acne treatment and some other skin conditions. The heat of a steam room also causes an increase in blood circulation, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to your skin surface. Over time, this can help contribute to a healthy, glowing appearance.

  • Whirlpool
Sit back and soak in the tranquility of Elite whirlpools. Let the jets massage your woes away. (Click to read more.)
  • Hydrotherapy, or warm water therapy in whirlpools, consists of three main healing ingredients; heat, buoyancy, and massage. Together, they create an experience that is both relaxing and healthy. Whirlpool hydrotherapy on a regular basis provides physical health benefits that go much deeper than just relaxation and pleasure. Water is so pure and simple, yet it can do the most amazing things. Whether you are experiencing joint or muscle pain, having trouble sleeping, or are just plain stressed out, spending time in a whirlpool can provide therapeutic benefits for just about everyone.

    Locations:

    • We offer a Co-ed whirlpool outside of the changing rooms.

    Stress, headaches and sleep
Warm water massage stimulates the body to release endorphins that reduce stress naturally. In addition to stress reduction, a whirlpool’s hydrotherapy jets also dilate blood vessels to help prevent headaches.

    Muscles and joints
The hydrotherapy use of whirlpools by athletes has skyrocketed. Tennis Magazine said it best: “Your skin and muscles loosen and relax from the increased blood circulation” adding that, if muscles are injured: "A soak in a hot tub or whirlpool increases blood flow to the injured area, bringing nutrients to help repair the damage."

    Arthritis
The Arthritis Foundation concluded that warm water hydrotherapy in a properly designed spa can help those with arthritis.

    Diabetes
Whirlpool hydrotherapy in can also help control diabetes. The use of a whirlpool lowers blood pressure and blood sugar level.

Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy and more
The muscle relaxing and joint loosening benefits of whirlpools help those with depression, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Tendonitis, Scoliosis and Bursitis. Whirlpools have even been known to provide significant help for those afflicted with diseases as serious as Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy.

Overall, hydrotherapy studies have shown that the health benefits of immersion in warm water with massage jet action include the relaxation of muscles, lowering of blood pressure, loosening of arthritic joints, as well as help with the control of blood sugar and body weight.

Reminder: A body temperature of 101º F and above can raise concerns during pregnancy. It takes only 10-20 minutes in a standard whirlpool to raise your body temperature to 101º F or higher. Please use caution when choosing to partake in whirlpool therapy.
