- What is Jr. Tennis, QuickStart, and 10 & Under Tennis?
Junior Tennis:
Elite Junior Tennis Program consist of everything tennis for children ages 18 and under. Elite Sports Clubs offers private and group lessons, USTA sanctioned and Elite specific tournaments and match play, and social events. Elite Junior Tennis Program is divided into 3 different types of group tennis lessons. Children ages 3-10 can participate in 10 & Under Tennis, formerly QuickStart. The Elite Junior Tennis, which consists of 85% of our juniors, will lead your juniors to being good all around tennis players for life. Our Invitational Program, which consists of 15% of our juniors, will train your juniors for top varsity play and give them opportunities for Division I, II or III collegiate tennis. Collectively, the Elite Junior Tennis Program is the largest and most established program in Wisconsin.
10 & Under Tennis:
10 & Under Tennis is the umbrella program that includes the 10 & Under Tennis Format formerly known as QuickStart. 10 & Under Tennis follows the same logic as other youth sports like baseball or soccer, which use kid-sized courts and kid-sized equipment. Kids learn to play baseball by first playing T-ball; they use shorter, lighter bats and larger, softer balls. Now with 10 & Under Tennis, balls bounce lower, don't move as fast through the air and are easier to hit. Racquets are sized for small hands and courts are smaller and easier to cover. By using this 10 & Under Tennis Format formerly known as QuickStart, the benefits are immediate and within a short time kids are rallying, playing, and excited to keep playing. That means kids will have more fun and less frustration. They're playing real tennis and having real fun.
10 & Under Tennis Format (formerly QuickStart):
The 10 & Under Tennis Format formerly known as QuickStart Tennis is a new teaching format to help children 10 and under learn and play the game of tennis. The 10 & Under Tennis Format is taught on 3 different size courts with three different low compression tennis balls corresponding to the size of the court. The Red Court for ages 3-8 is taught on a 36'x18' court with a red tennis ball that is 75% slower than a standard tennis ball. The Orange Court for ages 9-10 is taught on a 60'x21' court with an orange tennis ball that is 50% slower than a standard tennis ball. Every tennis court at Elite Sports Clubs have Orange Court lines painted on the tennis court. 10 & Under Tennis Players will progress to the Green Court for ages 10 and Under, which is taught on a standard 78'x27' size tennis court with a green tennis ball that is 25% slower than a tennis ball.

- What are the benefits of tennis for children?
Tennis benefits not just the physical but also the psyche. In an article titled, "Why Play Tennis?" by Jack Groppel, Ph.D., USPTA Master Professional, Dr. Groppel discusses 34 reasons to play tennis. Elite Sports Club has highlighted 6 reasons for your children to play tennis. Read the entire article [pdf].

- Develop social skills through interaction and communication before a match, while changing sides on the court and after play.
- Cross-training through a physically demanding sport that’s fun for athletes who specialize in other sports.
- Plan and implement strategies since you naturally learn how to anticipate your opponent’s moves and plan your counter moves.

- Fitness and Diet for Jr. Tennis Players
Fitness and diet are vital to a successful junior tennis player. Tennis players utilize core torsion, strength and anaerobic exertion on every point. Building up each aspect is important to a strong, healthy, less injury-prone player. Diet too is important. Understanding pre-match, during match and post-match diet can give a junior the edge over their opponent. Juniors tennis players must be on a couple membership with one parent, or a family membership to use the fitness center.
